Friday Night League

CSA Friday Night League Information

Friday Night League is a six-week league for our Development Teams. We will have our Silver Club (age 12-14) teams, our Navy Club (age 12-14) teams, and other club Development teams that participate in the league. Starting in January, these matches will be played on Fridays, until mid-March. All teams involved will play two full matches each night. Below you will find information on the format, 2024 season schedule, reminders, and facility addresses. 

 

FORMAT:
* Wave One start time varies for each location. It can be 5:30 pm, 7:00 pm, or 7:30 pm. Court time and space depend on the facility's time and space.

* Teams will play two matches per night. 

* Games will be best 2 out of 3 to 25, with the 3rd set to 15, if needed.

* Warm-up for Wave One is 15 minutes prior to start time. there is NO warm-up for the second match.

* The games will be set up in divisions. The teams within these divisions will play each other in the first 5 weeks to determine their seeding for the tournament. The 6th and final week of gameplay will be in a 2-game max tournament format.

* Teams do NOT have referee duties.

* There is a 5-minute break in between matches.

 

SCHEDULE: The schedule for Friday Night League is on the website calendar - successive dates of play. Teams are subject to move to different locations throughout the 6-week league. Locations and times will be announced no later than the Tuesday night prior to a game night.

January 19, 26

February 2, 9, 23

March 15

Designated Make-Up Dates (only if needed):

March  2,  8

 

Total of Matches:

2 per night, 12 matches total for the 6-week League

All Developmental Teams, CSA 12 Navy, CSA 12 Silver, CSA 13 Navy, CSA 13 Silver, CSA 14 Silver, CSA 14 Navy, and other area teams

 

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:

* Ages are intermixed. You will see players ranging from 10-17 years old participating.

* Line-ups are NOT needed. Teams get FREE subs. This also means jerseys are NOT required to be worn by the players.

* Step-in serve will be allowed for our younger players/lower courts. With each attempt of serve, the player must progress back to the end line.

* The First referee is provided. The refs are CSA club coaches and players 16-18 years of age.

* Matches are played at various sites in Colorado Springs. Coaches will be notified of the site where their team will play each week. Sites include Jenkins Middle School, Skyview Middle School, and Roy J. Wasson Academic Campus (see below for site addresses).

* CSA sites are very important and we expect everyone to take the best care of them as possible. Each location has some specific rules we all need to abide by. Please read the attached PDF for site rules for each location.
